MAPC Deacon and Greeter Extraordinaire.
A member of MAPC since 1951, Sue Matlock was the epitome of gracious Christian hospitality. A longtime office volunteer, her written greeting was for many years the first one received by visitors and seekers who found their way here. In addition to being beloved by her son Ray Matlock, daughter-in-law Madelynn, grandson and great-grandchildren, Sue became an adopted mother or grandmother to many members of MAPC. The motherly embrace that she provided to many who seek comfort in our congregation, and her gentle acceptance of those who may have been estranged from their own families, were just an expression of her southern hospitality, good humor, capacity to love, and a sense of right.
