Jan was born Janet LeMaster in Marion OH in 1938. She accomplished much in life until passing in 2020 of dementia. This disease took so much from her in a short time erasing so many memories of her amazing life as a motorcyclist, pilot, ordained Presbyterian minister and Doctor of Hebrew Studies awarded in 1998. In high school and college she earned many awards for her scholastic accomplishments. She traveled the world, literally, with her last trip in 2017 to Easter Island. Other places included China, Bhutan, Mongolia, much of Africa and South America and numerous European countries. She was a lover of the arts, a 25 year symphony subscriber as well as a season holder to the ballet, a member of the Cincinnati Art Museum, the zoo and the Contemporary Art Museum. When possible, she sang alto in our choir and preached on occasion. She served many local churches as interim pastor and taught at several local universities. While some might have found her intense, when she found an abandoned baby on the steps of a church she was serving, she promptly baptized the child. Her heart was captured by the love of kittens, cats, dogs and horses and loved biblical archeology.
