Parents of Lisa Foster.
(photographed on their Wedding Day – May 4, 1958)
Ed Foster, born May 25, 1931 . . . raised in Elsmere, Ky. Graduated from Lloyd High School and served 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Betty Jo Lillard, born Oct 16, 1936…in Warsaw Ky, and was raised in Covington and graduated from Simon Kenton High School.
They met in 1957, married and raised 4 children together. Ed worked as an installer repairman for Cincinnati Bell till retirement in 1989. Betty was a homemaker……and never retired from that!!!!
When they met, Betty was in the process of getting a divorce and she had a baby daughter. Ed loved that baby, eventually officially adopting her and shared his name. They went on to have 3 more children together – but all were raised as a family unit. Never making a difference between biological or adopted – they greatly loved them all.
They created a firm foundation for their family to live and grow. They instilled good values and led often by example – as parents, as lovers, as humans. They were members of Brucewood Presbyterian Church where Ed served as Elder and Betty participated in all events.
Ed died in 1993, at the age of 62, from complications from ALS. Betty died in 2014, at the age of 77, from many battles of various cancers.
They wouldn’t see themselves as saints…but they certainly were good role models.
They are dearly missed by many a family and friends, especially their children . . . and that 1st daughter – Lisa.
