Arimel was a devoted mother, sister and aunt. For over four decades she was a faithful member of Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, choir member and caring friend.
In addition to singing, Arimel loved cooking. One of her great loves was cooking for large family gatherings. She was also known for preparing meals for homeless families. She was a good seamstress and is remembered by many for teaching sewing at the downtown YMCA.
In Arimel’s later years, illness made walking difficult. She handled her physical limitations with the same quiet determination that she applied to all challenges, and she allowed her beloved church family to help her, letting us show her the caring and concern that she had always showed us.
Arimel lives on in us as a model of grace, patience and service to others.
