Our Music Ministry
Music opens our hearts and expands our spirits. It centers us each Sunday as we worship and reflect together.
You can expect the unexpected at MAPC.
On any give Sunday you will hear choral music or featured instrumentals such as organ, piano, brass, cello, woodwinds, and hand bells, as well as outstanding soloists and special guests.
In addition to our regular service, we often host of special events, such as the October Festival Choir and Brass Fellowship.
Below is additional information if you feel the spirit calling you to sing or share your musical gifts. To learn more, contact our talented and inspiring Director of Music Ministry Chris Miller through our church office.
The Members of our music groups will tell you their experience is one of joy, enrichment, and learning. Quite simply, they have fun. Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the music room from September through early June, taking a break during the summer months.
These Chancel Choir recordings are all from the choir’s CD entitled “Light from the Mountain: Spirituals and Inspirational Music from the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church”; published August 1998; Produced by Christian Miller.

Our handbell choir plays a beautiful, three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and is featured in our services on a regular basis. This group is open to anyone – as our music director Chris Miller says: “You don’t have to be able to read music. If you can count, you can play bells.”
Handbell rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., also in the music room. Like the choir, handbells take a break for the summer typically from roughly June until September.
