Music Ministry

Music ministry at MAPC includes instrumental music such as organ, brass, and hand bells as well as choral music presented by the Chancel Choir during morning worship. We also host special events such as the October Festival Choir. Refer to the weekly Sunday bulletins to view the diverse types of music used in our worship services.

Music is an integral part of the worship life at Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church. With a diverse repertoire, the choir, under the direction of Christian Miller, Director of Music Ministries, provides music leadership for our worship services. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 in the music room from September through early June, taking a break during the summer months.

These Chancel Choir recordings are all from the choir’s CD entitled“Light from the Mountain: Spirituals and Inspirational Music from the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church”; published August 1998; Produced by Christian Miller.

Mt. Auburn Presbyterian’s handbell choir plays a beautiful, three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells. This ensemble adds to worship throughout the year by providing beautiful handbell music for worship services. Under the highly-skilled leadership of our Director of Music Ministry, Christian Miller, this group is open to anyone.

You don’t even have to be able to read music. As they say, “If you can count, you can play bells!” This is a great group of people that really has fun as they make music. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 in the music room. The handbell choir takes a break for the summer from roughly June until September. Contact Chris with questions or to sign up.

The October Festival Choir offers a quality choral musical experience to a diverse and inclusive group of singers and listeners. Under the auspices and nurturing of Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church, the October Festival Choir brings together people of the Greater Cincinnati Community for an annual event which reflects the universal language of music in an atmosphere of love, acceptance, and musical enrichment.

Visit the October Festival Choir Facebook Page for more information and photos of more recent concerts, upcoming concerts, participate as a singer, and for contact information.

Founded in 1994 and sponsored by Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, the Brass Fellowship brings together student, amateur and professional brass musicians from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Members of the brass ensemble come from many vocations including music, education, systems, and the law, but all share a passion for music.
