Heartfelt Tidbits supports immigrant and refugee families in Greater Cincinnati as they work toward stability, belonging, and self-sufficiency. Through education, employment support, youthprograms, community connections, and direct assistance, we help families overcome barriers while building a strong foundation in their new communities. 

During the current housing crisis, many families are facing increased financial pressure due to rising rental costs, employment challenges, unexpected emergencies, and deportation. Emergency rental assistance provides a critical bridge to help families remain safely housed while they work toward long-term stability.

So far, in 2026, Heartfelt Tidbits has already provided rental assistance to help support 12 families experiencing housing instability, often due to ongoing deportations. The families we serve live throughout Greater Cincinnati, including communities such as Mt. Healthy, Lockland, White Oak, Forest Park, Finneytown, Colerain Township, and other surrounding Cincinnati neighborhoods. 

We are seeking church partners to help raise a minimum of $12,000 by December 31, 2026, to provide emergency rental assistance for families in need.

The Willows Project provides humanitarian aid, including emergency rent assistance, to Central American immigrant families in the Princeton City Schools area of north central Hamilton County. While a stable household enables continuity of schooling and access to resources, such as social services and healthcare, our main goal is keeping family members safely housed together in a period of deep uncertainty for Central American immigrants. 

The Willows Project has provided emergency rent assistance to 30 households for a total of $11,000 between January 1 and July 31, 2026. At least half of these families lost a primary wage earner to heightened immigration enforcement action. As a nonprofit, we find it’s increasingly difficult to meet the expanding need for funds to prevent eviction and homelessness as families stabilize after such a loss. 

A donation for emergency rent assistance would allow The Willows Project to help families stay housed while adult caregivers look for work or a new place to live. We anticipate a need of about $14,000 for the remainder of 2026. We are also accepting funds for emergency assistance with utility bills, especially during periods of extreme heat or cold.

Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Inc. (KRM) is dedicated to providing resettlement services to refugees through faith- and agency-based co-sponsorship. Our goal is to help newcomers achieve self-sufficiency, successfully integrate into their communities, and connect with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Over the past year, many of the families we serve have experienced significant reductions in access to federal and state assistance. Beginning October 1, 2026, our clients will also lose eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, and Affordable Care Act subsidies. We have recently learned that state-funded housing assistance will no longer be available to them as well.

At the same time, the rising cost of housing, food, transportation, and other necessities has placed increasing financial pressure on families living in Covington, Newport, Bellevue, Latonia, and other Northern Kentucky communities. For families already working toward self-sufficiency, a temporary financial setback can create a serious risk of housing instability.

Emergency rental assistance from churches and faith partners in Northern Kentucky would make an immediate and meaningful difference for the families we serve. Your congregation can help provide a safety net for a newcomer family facing a temporary financial hardship and help them remain safely housed while they work toward greater stability and independence.
